Host Fact

Hatfield created The Wrestling Hotseat as a fun hobby to help promote wrestling to non wrestling fans. About Me:
I'm the marketing director for a surveying & mapping firm. I interview various wrestlers, from the mega famous to those just starting out. I have a lot of respect for anyone who gets involved in the business, so you will rarely hear me comment on wrestling in a negative manner. To me, it's a lot like my being a musician. I might not like certain bands, but that doesn't mean they're not talented, it only means that I'm not feeling it. So I'm not a basher, I am a very positive person and as far as wrestling goes, I look for the fun stuff and have a good time. My interviews are pretty much what would be considered softball questioning, with an emphasis on current projects and events. Jimmy Valiant once told me "Everyone's got a story", so I try to incorporate that into my interviews and let the guests talk. I don't usually interject personal opinion, and I don't report news or give opinions on matches. I used to be heavily involved in music and I always thought it was stupid when a non musician would comment, I guess to me, it's like "Who are you to criticize? What bands did you ever play with? What stages have you been on?" So, I have a strong dislike for armchair quarterbacks. It's okay to dislike something, it's another to criticize something you know nothing about.

The main thing I want to emphasize is that I do this to promote the guest, I'm already comfortable in my existence and am doing very well. Anything that I would promote, would be outside of the show.  I don't consider myself part of the wrestling industry nor do I want to be involved in the wrestling industry as anything other than what I am doing right now. I am a fan, who has the ability to give back to the performers I enjoy and also to promote things I think need to be promoted.  Simply put, I love wrestling and want to share that with others who enjoy it.
